The revised asking figure

The 30 September 2026 edition of 99.co’s report said the Telok Blangah jumbo flat’s asking price had been reduced from S$2.18 million to S$1,999,999. The report concerned a listing, not evidence of a completed sale at that amount.

Putting the reduction in context

The difference is S$180,001, or approximately 8.26% of the original asking price. That calculation shows the change in the seller’s request. It does not measure a loss against an achieved transaction, because the original S$2.18 million was also an asking figure.

Being one dollar below S$2 million changes the way the headline reads, but barely changes the financial commitment relative to S$2 million. A buyer should evaluate the selected home and funding requirement rather than make the decision around the marketing threshold.

Compare alternatives at the same budget

A large household may value room configuration, privacy and keeping family members together. Those benefits should be assessed against other homes that meet the same needs. Compare usable rooms, location, condition and the expense of adapting an alternative property.

For resale analysis, preserve the sequence: initial listing, revised listing, any subsequently verified agreement and any registered transaction. Only new evidence should move the story to the next stage. Neither a headline price reduction nor public discussion establishes a completed national record.

This follow-up records the source edition available on 30 September. It does not assert that the property remained available or had sold after that report.
